Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaki was specially permitted by the United Nations to travel to Pakistan for the meeting. Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Kang had flown in from Goa to attend the trilateral meeting, where he attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting.
Muttaki met Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Sunday and discussed key issues. In view of peace and security, they stressed the need to enhance coordination and strengthen bilateral cooperation to combat terrorism. Muttaki also met Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir and the two discussed issues of mutual interest. The army’s media unit gave this information in a statement.
