Islamabad, 18 January (HIST). Amidst the drone and missile attacks on Pakistan by Iran and the ongoing diplomatic standoff between the two countries, Pakistan on Thursday claimed that the Air Force had entered the Iranian border and destroyed terrorist hideouts. These hideouts belonged to Baloch rebels wanted in Pakistan.
According to the Pakistan Foreign Ministry, Pakistan launched a series of precisely targeted strikes on the hideouts of terrorists in Iran’s Sistan-o-Baluchistan province. Many terrorists were killed in this action. This action was taken on the basis of intelligence information. This step of Pakistan has come after the air strike conducted by Iran in Balochistan of Pakistan on January 16 in which the Iranian Air Force attacked two bases of terrorist organization Jaish-al-Adl located in the border of Pakistan.
Pakistan had expressed strong displeasure calling it unacceptable. Pakistan Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani warned that unilateral action could jeopardize regional peace. After this provocative action, Pakistan has got the right to retaliate. There has been tension in the relations between the two countries regarding the entire matter. Pakistan expels Iran’s ambassador. It has also recalled its ambassador from Iran.
India, while supporting Iran, had said on Wednesday that this is a matter between Iran and Pakistan. India is following a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism. We can face such steps being taken by other countries in self-defence.
