pain of pakistan army
A letter has been written to the Quarter Master General (QMG) office on behalf of some field commanders of the Pakistan Army. The shortage in the food supply of the soldiers has been mentioned in this letter itself. The situation has been discussed with the Chief of Logistics Staff (CLS) and the Director General Military Operations (DGMO) from the QMG side.
It is written in this letter that military officers QMG, CLS and DGMO have raised this issue in their meeting with Army Chief General Asim Munir. Quoting sources in the report, it has been told that now the army is not even able to feed the soldiers twice a day. If sources are to be believed, inflation has reached this level for the first time in decades and special funds are also being cut.
How to fight with TTP
According to sources, the food fund sanctioned by former Army Chief General Raheel Sharif during Operation Zarb-e-Azb in 2014 was also curtailed. Raheel Sharif had approved double the food fund as compared to earlier. On behalf of DG Military Operations, it has been said that the army is not in a position at this time to cut further in logistics and supplies. If this happens, then the soldiers who have been deployed in the border area to fight Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) will be affected. These soldiers need more food and special funds.
Salary will also be cut
Pakistan is currently in the biggest economic crisis in decades. The burden of debt is increasing on it, due to low foreign exchange reserves and skyrocketing inflation, a food crisis has arisen in the country. To avoid pauperism, the country’s government is forced to follow all the measures suggested by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The country’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has now also decided to cut his salary.
