Pakistan has to pay about $40 million in lease money for the Boeing aircraft.
Pakistan’s insult in Malaysia
The Malaysian company took orders from the local court for non-payment of Pakistan’s money and seized the PIA aircraft at the airport. This is not the first time that Pakistan has been insulted in Malaysia. Even before this, in the year 2021, the Pakistani aircraft was seized in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. This seized aircraft could somehow be brought back. There were 173 passengers and crew members on board the aircraft. Pakistan is currently grappling with a serious shortage of foreign exchange reserves. Foreign exchange reserves with Pakistan are only around $ 4 billion. Pakistan is currently seeking a loan from the IMF but it does not see any possibility yet. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has now appealed to the MD of the IMF.
