Things get worse from August 2021
From August 2021, Pakistan’s situation started deteriorating further. This year, America withdrew its forces from Afghanistan and from here the country’s plight started. As the US left Afghanistan, the security challenges on Pakistan increased. The pressure on him to take action against terrorist organizations and terrorists started increasing. Apart from this, political instability also added fuel to the fire.
The government was forced to take such decisions which can only please the public. These decisions were for a short time, but the damage they caused to the country can be seen till today. These decisions were implemented without any strategy. After this, when the flood came in September 2022, it made the situation worse. This flood destroyed about 20 lakh houses and caused extraordinary damage to the economy. The economy had reached a point where no result existed.
everyone wants to help
Everyone is making efforts to get the country out of this situation. The country has been given loans by the IMF 13 times in the last 35 years. Saudi Arabia, which is a strategic partner of the country, also invested a large amount in the country. This country cooperated for many years in keeping Pakistan’s economy stable. America, Iran, China, UAE, Qatar and many other countries have also spoken of supporting the country in crisis. Another bailout package has been expressed by the IMF. However, through the conditions that have been kept this time, efforts are being made to ensure that this crisis does not arise again and again.
Saudi Arabia has also demanded economic reforms from Pakistan in the past. Surprisingly, the country’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar refused to accept the IMF package on 31 January. The reason for this is that PM Shahbaz Sharif’s government knows that doing so in the elections to be held in October can harm it. According to some recent reports, Pakistan had agreed to reform its economy. Even under the bailout package, the country does not see much benefit.
What are the challenges before the country
If Pakistan does not stabilize its government, then many bad situations can arise. The country’s defense budget is 17.5 percent of the general budget. If experts are to be believed, instead of spending such a huge amount in defence, it would have been better if efforts would have been made to solve the country’s economic crisis. Experts believe that the things that have been going on in Pakistan do not seem to be changing. The Chinese debt, which is 30 per cent of the total national debt, may increase further and Pakistan may have to surrender itself to Chinese influence. He can also lose his sovereignty and become a slave of China.
terrorists will become stronger
In addition, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistani (TTP)-led terrorist organization is becoming stronger. Due to the economic crisis, they can get a big boost. Also, the citizens here who do not know anything can blame the government. In this way chaos will increase in Pakistan. According to economic experts, Pakistan is a country with nuclear capability. Under these circumstances, any coup in the country is currently impossible. Losing control over Pakistan completely can prove to be a global threat. According to the experts of the economy, it is very important to find a solution to this crisis. Pakistan will have to help itself.
