According to the news of Pakistani news website Geo TV, Ishaq Dar said, ‘I believe in transparency and financial discipline. Let me assure you that ‘no one is ready’ to compromise with Pakistan’s nuclear or missile programme. no way.’ Pakistan’s Finance Minister said that no one has any right to “dictate” on Pakistan what range of missiles and what nuclear weapons it can have.
‘The program should have been completed in 2022 itself’
Dar said that the present government has not entered into the present agreement with the IMF. It was the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government that stamped the program in 2019. “The program should have been completed in 2022 itself,” Ishaq Dar slammed the PTI government for giving in to the demands of the IMF and the autonomy of the State Bank of Pakistan. He said that earlier reviews were complete but now it seems that every review has become a ‘new programme’.
‘There is no delay from Pakistan’s side’
Pakistan’s Finance Minister said that the delay is not on the part of the present government. He said, ‘We have completed everything. I want to tell you that some friendly countries have made a commitment to support Pakistan bilaterally. The IMF is now saying that they should actually fulfill those commitments and implement them. IMF loan is currently the biggest need for Pakistan which is on the verge of bankruptcy.
