According to sources, the establishment of the five-storey Darshan Resort was announced by Pakistan Punjab Secretary (Tourism) Raja Jahangir Anwar. He said the project would cost Pakistani rupees 300 million. The resort will include 10 suite rooms, a theater and a gym on its top floor, which will provide a panoramic view of the Kartarpur corridor and the Gurudwara complex.

Pakistani media reports suggest that the resort will be built about 500 meters from the gurudwara. The groundbreaking ceremony for the project is expected to take place in January, with completion expected by the end of 2024. A controversy had arisen over a party being held near the gurdwara on November 18, but the Project Management Unit (PMU) which manages the gurdwara.
