According to the report of news agency ANI, Pakistan’s pharma industry is largely dependent on imports. About 95 percent of pharmaceuticals are dependent on raw materials coming from many countries like India and China.

Worst drug crisis may come in the country
Due to lack of dollars in the banking system, the imported material of most of the drug manufacturers is stuck at Karachi port. According to the drug manufacturing industry, the continuous fall in the Pakistani rupee as well as the rising cost of fuel and transportation are making the production of drugs costlier. Senior officials are warning that if the current policies i.e. ban on imports are maintained for another five weeks, then the worst drug crisis will knock in the country.
