Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari visited the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan on March 27 to express condolences to the Chinese citizens killed in the attack on a vehicle at the Dasu Hydropower Station project constructed by a Chinese company in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Zardari said that on behalf of the people of Pakistan, he expressed deep condolences on the loss of five Chinese nationals killed in the terrorist attack and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. The attack was so shocking that she felt as if she had “lost her child.” He said that Pakistan promises to take firm steps to bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest and prevent the terrorists from destroying the friendship between Pakistan and China and affecting the common goals of peace, prosperity and security between the two countries. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Chiang Zeitung said the builders of the DASU project and other China-Pakistan cooperation projects have made outstanding contributions to Pakistan’s economic development and improvement of people’s living standards.
