Arms consignment sent from Karachi to German port

According to the report of our associate publication The Economic Times, this consignment of arms was sent through the ship ‘MV Juist’ from Karachi port. It was first sent to Emden port in Germany and from there to Ukraine. The Economic Times was the first to report how Pakistan played a key role in Britain’s arms transfer to Ukraine last year. It was then reported in the report that the arms consignment was sent to Romania’s Avram Ivancu Cluj International Airport by military transport planes of the British Air Force from Noor Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi. From here these weapons were supplied to Ukraine.

Pakistan and Britain trying to dodge

Britain took the long route by not sending its ships through the airspace of Iran and Afghanistan to trick the world. These consignments were sent over West Asian countries between 6 and 15 August. A Globemaster aircraft of the Royal Air Force was used to transport the weapons. A British Air Force C-17A Globemaster III (call sign: ZZ173) is said to have delivered daily arms shipments from Pakistan to Romania. It is believed that in future also more ammunition can be delivered to Ukraine through this air route.

Poland is also buying weapons from Pakistan for Ukraine

Recently a Polish unit has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Pakistani company for the supply of defense equipment to Ukraine. Some other Pakistani and Polish companies are also involved in the transfer of equipment, while a Canadian firm is acting as an intermediary. Islamabad-based DMI Associates, which acts as an agent for Pakistani state-owned arms manufacturers, has signed an MoU with Poland’s state-run Strategic Reserve Agency. It is also learned that Polish firm PHU Lechmar will be procuring arms from Pakistan through the mediation of Canada-based Tradent Global Solutions.

Large consignment of air defense missiles handed over to Poland

As per reports, Pakistan had exported a consignment of Anza Mark-II Man Portable Air Defense Systems to Poland to be taken to Ukraine. The transport deal is being negotiated between Karachi-based firm Millennium Technologies and Poland’s Omida Sea & Air. Pakistan is using a German port to transfer rockets to Kiev for use in a multi-barrel rocket launcher. So far, more than 10,000 rockets have been sent to Ukraine, according to people familiar with Ukraine-Pakistan relations.

Ukraine is upgrading Pakistani helicopters in return

In January, Karachi-based shipping firm Project Shipping reportedly delivered 146 containers from Pakistan Ordnance Factories. Also last month, another consignment of 50,000 defense stores was reportedly sent via Karachi to the Pakistan Ordnance Factories. Shipments from Pakistan are reportedly being sent to Ukraine via Poland’s Gdańsk Port. In return, Ukraine has promised assistance to Pakistan to upgrade its Mi-17 helicopters. A Ukrainian company involved in manufacturing aircraft engines as well as industrial marine gas turbines is reportedly helping Pakistan upgrade helicopters.
