Maryam Nawaz demanded an “immediate” court martial of herself and her father, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s former spymaster retired Lt Gen Faiz Hameed.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that investigative agencies are probing the case against former chief of the country’s intelligence wing ISI, Lt Gen Faiz Hameed. Let us tell you that earlier, Maryam Nawaz, the main organizer of Pakistan’s ruling party PML-N, had demanded an “immediate” court martial of herself and her father former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s former spymaster retired Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed. Earlier, ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan had demanded court martial of former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Interestingly, Nawaz Sharif used to hold General Bajwa and General Hameed responsible for their disqualification by the Supreme Court in 2017 by pressurizing the judges. But now the father and daughter are only demanding action against former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief General Faiz Hameed. Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that Maryam and her father were only targeting General Hameed as he had entered into a pact with General Bajwa to remove Imran Khan. Maryam Nawaz told a news website on Wednesday that she had moved a court against General Hameed for his role in getting herself and Nawaz Sharif convicted in fake cases in 2017.
Last week, Imran Khan accused General Bajwa of backstabbing him. Khan alleged stating that “General Bajwa wanted to crush me. If anyone thinks that I will bow down, it will never happen. There should be an internal military inquiry against General Bajwa. He should be court-martialled for giving a speech against Russia when I went there to buy oil at cheap rates.
