Mumbai: During the last trading session, Wall Street indices showed a rise. Every index saw an increase of 1-2%. After this, most Asian indices followed Wall Street’s lead. That’s why the sessions started on a high note today. Indian benchmark indices also advanced sharply in response to optimistic global sentiments.

Today BSE Power and BSE Utilities saw gains of over 2% each. Strong profitability at JSW Energy Ltd was the main driving force behind this. However, Adani Group shares also played an important role in the rally today. IT and Telecom stocks also gained today.

At 11:00 am on Monday, the BSE Sensex rose 1.10% to a level of 60,467. The Nifty 50 index climbed 1.11% to reach the level of 17,787. On Sensex, all its constituents were trading higher. Among these, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys and Power Grid Corporation of India were at the forefront.

Looking at the Advance Decline Ratio on BSE, 2,345 stocks gained and 930 declined today. Thus the advance-decline ratio remained strongly in favor of the gainers. Shares of BSE top smallcap gainer Asian Energy Services Ltd locked at 20% upper circuit, keeping small-cap bulls busy. Heavy buying was also witnessed in Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers and 5Paisa Capital Ltd.
