Bikaner, 1 February (HS). Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Thursday that Rajasthan was ignored during the UPA government from 2009-14, but for the coming year 2024-25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a budget of Rs 9782 crore to the state for railways. At present 98 percent electrification has been completed in Rajasthan. What’s more, currently an investment of Rs 53045 crore has been made in Rajasthan.
Along with giving information about the Railway Budget to the journalists, the Railway Minister also connected online. Journalists attended this live press-conference in the conference room of Bikaner Divisional Railway Manager’s office. On this occasion, many railway officials including DRM Dr. Ashish Kumar, Senior DCM Mahesh Kumar Jevaliya, DCM Jitendra Sharma were present.
The Railway Minister said that during the UPA government, Rajasthan had a railway budget of Rs 682 crore for the year, but for such a big and important state, PM Modi has given a very good budget. Work is also being done at a fast pace. Work was slow during the time of Congress. Presently 85 stations of Rajasthan are being developed under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Besides, 1367 flyovers and underpasses have been built in the state in the last ten years. Apart from this, stalls for handicraft items as well as local items have been set up at 54 stations.
On this occasion, in the press conference, the Railway Minister also gave progress information about the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
