New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu that the people of India stand firmly with his country in this difficult time. The Israeli Prime Minister called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and informed him about the latest situation amid retaliatory attacks against Hamas. Hamas extremists killed hundreds of Israelis in attacks on Israel’s southern border over the weekend. Prime Minister Modi’s office said in a statement that he expressed his deepest condolences to those killed and injured. Modi also raised the issue of security of Indian citizens in Israel. Netanyahu assured Modi of full cooperation.
Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “I thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his phone call and for giving me information on the current situation. The people of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult time. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.” Israeli warplanes are targeting Gaza following an unprecedented attack on Israel this weekend by Hamas extremists.
