Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to America from 20 June. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden will participate in a joint press briefing on Thursday and take questions from reporters, according to a senior White House official. White House national security spokesman John Kirby said the upcoming joint press conference is a big deal. Reuters quoted Kirby as saying that we are grateful that Prime Minister Modi is participating in a press event at the end of the visit. We think it’s important and we’re glad he thinks it’s important too.
PM Modi arrived in the US on 20 June for his four-day visit. PM Modi reached the headquarters of the United Nations to participate in the Yod Diwas program and also did yoga there. Apart from this, PM Modi also met tech giants, businessmen and many dignitaries. After concluding all his programs in New York, PM Modi turned to Washington. Prime Minister Modi also met with Jill Biden and visited the National Science Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia with her.
Later in the day, he also met US President Joe Biden, who hosted a private dinner for him at the White House. The meeting also included exchange of gifts. PM Modi has visited the US five times since taking office in 2014. But the current visit is his first with the full diplomatic status of a state visit.
