Indian Army’s 42nd Deoli Regiment, 58th Vaughan Rifles (Frontier Force), 2nd Battalion, 3rd Queen Alexandra’s Own Gurkha Rifles, 51st Sikhs (Frontier Force), 1st Battalion 50th Kumaon Rifles, Jodhpur (Imperial Service) and Lancers at the Heliopolis Monument , 3rd Sappers and Miners along with the names of several more regiments are recorded. Along with this, the name of Risaldar Badlu Singh is specially recorded on this war memorial. He was posthumously awarded the highest British wartime gallantry award, the Victoria Cross. He was martyred in this war and his last rites were also performed here. He died on 13 September 1918 while fighting the enemies.
