People of the Indian community welcomed PM Modi who arrived in Australia with slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. The Prime Minister will address the Indian community at a grand event to be held at the Kudos Park Arena in Sydney’s Olympic Park on Tuesday. More than 25,000 people are expected to participate in the event. The event is being organized by the Indian-Australian Diaspora Foundation. This is PM Modi’s second visit to Australia since 2014.
Australian PM said – matter of respect!
Prime Minister of Australia Albanese said before the visit of PM Modi that it is an honor for me to host Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is coming on an official visit to Australia. He said he looked forward to visiting New Delhi in September for the G20 Leaders’ Summit, the world’s premier forum for economic cooperation. Regarding the relations between India and Australia, PM Modi said that mutual trust between the two countries has changed over time into cooperation, especially on defense and security matters.
Emphasis on strengthening ties with Australia
In an interview with ‘The Australian’ newspaper, the Prime Minister said that he wanted to take India-Australia relations to the ‘next level’. Regarding the challenges facing the ‘open and independent Indo-Pacific’, he said, ‘India believes that these challenges can be resolved only through joint efforts.’ PM Modi’s three-nation foreign tour began in Japan where he attended the G-7 summit. From here he reached Papua New Guinea and reached Sydney on Monday.
