Islamabad police arrived at the residence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Lahore, Pakistan on Tuesday to arrest him. A day after a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Khan in the Toshakhana case, the police reached his house. Police blocked all roads leading to the house of Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, and heavy police force was deployed. Khan’s supporters also gathered in large numbers outside Khan’s residence protesting the police action.
Senior PTI leader Farooq Habib told reporters that come what may, Imran Khan would not surrender to the police in fake cases. Habib said, “The Islamabad High Court today suspended the arrest warrant in the case related to threatening a woman judge. Let’s see what new warrant the police have come up with now.” A senior police officer of the Islamabad Police said that their team is here to arrest Khan in the Toshakhana case.
