Political future of Chautala family

Ch. The Chautala family, which was the center point of the country’s politics during the time of Devi Lal and the politics of Haryana during the era of Omprakash Chautala, is today seen struggling for its political existence due to mutual differences and internal strife. INLD had won one assembly seat in the 2019 assembly elections. Ajay Chautala’s party JJP, which rebelled against the family, had won 10 assembly seats. JJP had formed an alliance with BJP and supported the Khattar government even when the farmers’ movement was in full swing.

With the announcement of 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the general feeling in Haryana was that BJP and JJP would contest the elections together with an honorable agreement to make JJP follow the alliance principle. But how the tables turn in politics, the current political situation can be understood by looking at the way leaders are changing parties in other parts of the country including Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

JJP’s Haryana state president Nishan Singh has resigned from the post of president and can join any other party, especially Congress, at any time. Similarly, many JJP MLAs are in touch with BJP and can join BJP any time.

Looking at the current political circumstances of Haryana, there are clear indications that the political future of both INLD and JJP is at stake. INLD’s leader Abhay Chautala has contested the Lok Sabha elections in Kurukshetra, while Dushyant Chautala, who is representing the next generation of the Chautala family, is facing opposition from a section of farmers in Hisar.

JJP President Ajay Chautala had recently publicly said that he is ready to go if Bade Chautala Sahib i.e. father Omprakash Chautala calls him. This public statement of Ajay Chautala is undoubtedly a late statement, but considering the political circumstances of Haryana, it can be called a step in the right direction.

Haryana’s politics and especially Ch. Those who know the nature of Omprakash Chautala realize that he will not agree quickly. Ajay Chautala is his son, who better than him? Omprakash Chautala should accept Ajay Chautala’s return home.
