Oli’s party had been demanding Prachanda’s resignation in Parliament for several days and due to this proceedings had to be adjourned in the past. After this political controversy, now Prachanda has apologized by giving a statement. Prachanda said in the House of Representatives, ‘Though it was not my intention (to say that India has any role in appointing Prime Ministers in Nepal), I still regret my statement.’
Prachanda remembers daughter, informs Oli’s party
Prachanda said in his speech that he got emotional during the program and was speaking at that time not as the Prime Minister but as the father of a daughter. My daughter was very ill at one time and Sardar Pritam Singh helped her. Dahal’s daughter Gyanu KC died of cancer in 2014. Pritam Singh helped in the treatment of Gyanu in India. Prachanda said that he later realized that his statement was inappropriate as the Prime Minister of a country.
The Nepali Prime Minister said that it is wrong that Oli’s party UML and its MPs have started alleging that India had a role in making him the Prime Minister. Not only this, UML even demanded his resignation. Prachanda questioned, ‘The language of my statement regarding Pritam Singh may be inappropriate but how can anyone question the integrity of the entire Parliament which has elected me.’ Earlier, there was a meeting between Oli, Prachanda and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and it was agreed that the Prime Minister would ask for an end to the impasse.
