Niamey: The fire of the recent coup in Niger has now started spreading to many countries of West Africa. After the coup, 35-year-old General Ibrahim Traoré, who has been ruling as the ruler and president of Burkina Faso, has made it clear that the days of slavery in Africa are over. Along with this, he has challenged France and America. Traore has banned uranium and gold exports from the country to the US and France. Traore has been in the news since last year when he took power in his own hands by carrying out a coup in the country. He had also expelled the French forces from the country.

Why do African leaders travel around the world begging?’ Traoré’s statement suggests that Burkina Faso is now preparing to form a strong regional alliance against the West with Niger, Guinea, Mali and Algeria.

Neighboring Burkina Faso and Mali have issued stern warnings against any military intervention following the July 26 coup in Niger. In a joint statement, Burkina Faso and Mali expressed their solidarity with the people of Niger. Also accepted his decision to take control of his destiny and sovereignty. He cautioned that military intervention in Niger could have disastrous consequences. These would be consequences that could destabilize the entire region.
