Before leaving on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar, Modi had said in a statement on Tuesday that the strong presence of the Indian community of over 800,000 in Doha is a testament to our strong people-to-people ties.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude to the Indian diaspora for the extraordinary welcome he received on his arrival in the capital of Qatar. Modi reached Doha on Wednesday night on an official visit to Qatar. This is the Prime Minister’s second visit to Qatar. He visited Qatar for the first time in June 2016.
Modi wrote on ‘X’ along with some pictures, “Extraordinary welcome in Doha! Grateful to the NRIs.” Upon Modi’s arrival here, he was welcomed by members of the Indian community, including members of the Muslim Bohra community.
