Ota (Uttam Hindu News): Punjabi-Canadian singer Shubneet Singh (Shubh), who is facing a controversial post on the internet media amid the diplomatic row between India and Canada, on Thursday said that he is extremely disappointed with the cancellation of his India tour. The singer’s ‘Still Rollin’ India Tour’ was canceled due to his alleged support to the Khalistan issue.
In a statement shared on the internet media’s Instagram platform, Shubneet Singh said that he had been training hard for his India tour for the last two months and was very excited about his program in the country. The singer posted on his page on Instagram, ‘As a young rapper-singer coming from Punjab, it was my life’s dream to put my music on an international platform. But recent events have affected my hard work and progress and I wanted to say something to express my disappointment and sadness.’
He added in the post, “I am very disappointed with the cancellation of my tour in India. I was very excited to perform in my own country, in front of my own people. Preparations were in full swing and I was practicing for it with all my heart and soul.
Punjab is my soul, Punjab is in my blood
Describing India as his country, the singer wrote in the post that when it came to making sacrifices for the country’s freedom, his ‘ancestors and gurus did not blink an eye’. India is my country too. I was born here. This is the land of my gurus and my ancestors, who did not even blink an eye to make sacrifices for the freedom of this land, its glory and its family.” And Punjab is my soul, Punjab is in my blood. Whatever I am today, I am because of being Punjabi.
