Quad Joint Statement: Strong message from Delhi to Beijing, know what the foreign ministers of Japan, India, America said?

The countries of the Quad have met in Delhi today. During this, the foreign ministers of the four countries of the group have kept their point. Their joint statement has come to the fore after the meeting of the Quad Foreign Ministers. Our meeting today reaffirms the Quad’s firm commitment to supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific that is inclusive and resilient, the statement said. Giving a strong message to China, it has been said that the Quad is not a military group. However, it has always been believed from the Chinese side that on the pretext of Quad, all four big powers have been churning to surround it in South China and the Indian Pacific Ocean.

We, the Foreign Ministers of Australia, India and Japan and the Secretary of State of the United States of America met in New Delhi, India on 03 March 2023 for the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, the joint statement said. Our meeting today reaffirms the Quad’s unwavering commitment to supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific that is inclusive and resilient. We firmly support the principles of independence, rule of law, sovereignty and territorial integrity, peaceful resolution of disputes without threat or use of force and freedom of navigation and overflight, and also oppose any unilateral effort, all of which are essential for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

We reiterate our firm belief that the Quad is acting as a force for regional and global good. Will be guided by the priorities of the Indo-Pacific region through its positive and constructive agenda. Through the Quad, we seek to support the region through practical cooperation on contemporary challenges such as health security, climate change and clean energy transition, critical and emerging technologies, infrastructure and connectivity.
