Bhatt, who played the lead role in the film, said in an interview, “There was a time when Salim-Javed duo used to play the angry young man and now Anurag Kashyap is presenting the middle-aged angry young man.” The pair of writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar is popularly known as Salim-Javed. Both wrote many hit films like ‘Deewar’, ‘Trishul’, ‘Sholay’ and ‘Shakti’, which earned Amitabh Bachchan recognition as ‘Angry Young Man’ in the film world. Rahul Bhatt (45) said the film has a lot of depth, which unfolds layer by layer.
He said, “If we talk about depth and seriousness, then the film ‘Ugly’ is nothing in front of ‘Kennedy’. It emphasizes psychology and intuition. Of course it does have a social commentary…the story moves fast and I hope it keeps people hooked.” ‘Kennedy’ is produced under the banner of ‘Zee Studios’ and ‘Good Bad Films’. . Sunny Leone and Abhilash Thapliyal will also be seen in the film. ‘Kennedy’ will have its world premiere in the ‘Midnight Screening Segment’ of the Cannes Film Festival.
