Raised voice on Balochistan, appealed to the international community to take cognizance of human rights violations. Loktej World News

Islamabad, March 17 (HS). Baloch Yakjahti Committee representative Dr. Mehrang Baloch appealed to the United Nations and the international community to take cognizance of the cases of serious human rights violations in Balochistan and intervene to end them. During the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, he appealed to the international community to take a stand for Balochistan.

Giving this information in a post shared on Twitter, Dr. Mehrang Baloch said that Baloch Yakjahti Committee is a group which advocates the rights of Baloch people. In UNHRC, Dr. Mehrang told in a sequential manner that his father was disappeared by Pakistani intelligence agencies and killed in custody. His younger brother was also disappeared and continued to be tortured for months. However, she said that she is expressing her grief not for her family but as a representative of the Baloch people who have endured unimaginable suffering for a long time.

He requested the international community to intervene in Balochistan. Dr. Mehrang Baloch said that cases like inhumanity, overnight disappearance, murder bypassing the justice system, fake encounters are happening to the people of Balochistan. They allege that a slow genocide is going on in Balochistan by the ruling establishment due to which their entire community is in danger. He says that the Baloch people have continuously protested against the human rights violations committed by the Pakistani establishment in their area for decades. Therefore now the international community representing the United Nations should also take a stand for Balochistan.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Mehrang Baloch has been continuously raising her voice against the atrocities of Pakistani Army in Balochistan. Born in a Baloch family in 1993, Mehrang has studied MBBS. His father’s name was Abdul Ghaffar who was a labourer. February 2009, his father was kidnapped on his way to the hospital. His dead body was found about two years later. When his post-mortem was conducted, it was found that he had been tortured a lot, due to which he died. The series of atrocities on Dr. Mehrang’s family did not end. Eight years after his father’s death, i.e. in 2017, his brother was also kidnapped and kept in custody for about 3 months. Dr. Mehrang started raising his voice against Pakistani security forces from a young age. Later, she became a major face of protest in Balochistan.
