SBI Account Closing Charges: If you have savings accounts in different banks and you want to close one of them, then this news is useful for you. Actually, sometimes managing more than one bank account becomes troublesome for you.
There is a maintenance fee and minimum amount required to manage the account. This is why most people prefer to close the account rather than having more than one bank account and paying ‘non-maintenance charges’. But hardly do you know that even on closing a bank account, charges have to be paid. But this rule is applicable on closing the account within a certain time frame. Let us know about the account closing charges of different banks-
HDFC bank
If you close your HDFC Bank account within 14 days of opening it, the bank does not charge you any fee. But if you close the account between 15th day and 12 months then you will have to pay closure charge of Rs 500. This charge for senior citizens is Rs 300. After 12 months, no charges are taken by the bank.
State Bank of India:
If you close your account in SBI also for one year, then no charge is taken by the bank for this. But if you close the account for 15 days to 12 months then you will have to pay Rs 500 along with GST.
ICICI Bank
ICICI Bank does not charge any fee for closing the account within the first 30 days of account opening. But if you close the account between 31st day to 12th month then the bank charges you Rs 500.
Canara Bank:
Canara Bank does not charge any fee for closing the bank account in the first 14 days. But if the account is closed within 12 months from the 15th day then you are charged Rs 200 + GST. But even if you close your bank account after one year, you will have to pay Rs 100 + GST.
After opening of Yes Bank
If you close your account within 30 days or after one year, you will not have to pay any kind of charge for it. But if you close the account from 31st day to 12th month then you will have to pay Rs 500 for this.
