New Delhi. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has raised a total of Rs 40,314 crore through monetization of its assets in the financial year 2023-24, which is much higher than the target. A senior government official gave this information on Tuesday. The official said the ministry raised Rs 15,968 crore in the last financial year through monetization of net-to-operate-transfer (TOT) groups, Rs 15,700 crore through infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) and Rs 8,646 crore through sale of securities. In this way, the amount raised through asset monetization for the financial year 2023-24 has gone beyond the set target of Rs 28,968 crore. The ministry had raised Rs 32,855 crore in the financial year 2022-23 through asset monetization.
