Moscow: Commodity firm Kepler has said a big thing on the oil deal between India and Russia. Kepler has said that even though the demand for oil from China has improved, Russia will still sell as much oil as it can sell to India. Till a year ago, India had hardly bought oil from Russia. But after the Russia-Ukraine war, when America and European Union imposed sanctions on Russia, then India became a big market. India has bought 1.85 million barrels of oil from Russia in February. If you believe Victor Katona of Kepler, then this figure can reach two billion barrels per day.

China can complete exports
If Victor is to be believed, it is true that China can buy Russia’s entire oil export. China has completely abolished the zero covid policy. But even after this, Russia wants to keep India’s market with itself. Russia believes that the Indian market is very attractive and will help its oil traders to establish greater control. According to the International Energy Organization, last month Russia exported 2.3 million barrels of oil to China in a day.
Vladimir Putin Ukraine: Why Putin, who remained calm for decades, suddenly attacked Ukraine, is there no reason for displeasure with America and Europe?
India is important even after China
This year, the demand for oil from China may increase up to nine lakh barrels per day. The restrictions imposed during the pandemic have been lifted and now China can import more oil. Chinese refineries also want to buy more and more oil from Russia this year. They also have shipping capabilities. In such a situation, by sending oil to Russia through containers, China would be thinking of taking away the income that it is getting from oil exports to India. According to Victor, the journey till India is very short.

India’s plant is about to start
On an average, a tanker takes 35 days to reach India from Russia’s western ports, while China takes 40 to 45 days. Russia’s largest producer Rosneft PJSC also owns a 49.13% stake in Nayara Energy Limited, which owns the Vadinar refinery and associated shipping facilities, the second largest facility in India. Katona said that the Vadinar plant has already taken all its raw material from Russia this month.
