Russia, South Africa discuss setting up of BRICS geological platform for data sharing

Moscow (Best Hindu News): A working meeting between senior officials of Russia and South Africa discussed setting up a geopolitical forum of BRICS countries.
This information was given by the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources on Monday. The ministry said in a statement, “Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia, met with Moses Mabuza, Chief Executive Officer of the Geology Council of South Africa. The main topic of discussion was to establish a geological forum of BRICS member countries. According to the statement, this platform will enable BRICS countries to exchange data on their mineral reserves and extraction technologies as the demand for natural resources is increasing manifold.
The statement said that to establish the platform, first of all, meetings of experts and heads of national geological services of BRICS countries will be held, from which a memorandum will be adopted.
Kozlov said that on March 30, the geological forum will be discussed at the session of the Inter-Governmental Commission of Russia and South Africa. BRICS is an association of the world’s largest developing economies – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – with several other countries aspiring to join, including Argentina, Iran, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
