First consignment of oil reached Pakistan
There has been a lot of positive change in the relations between Pakistan and Russia for some time now. The talk of better relations is being repeated often from both the countries. Both the countries are now trying to convert their years of quiet diplomacy into results. In April, the two countries signed a historic agreement. Only after this agreement, the first consignment of oil has reached Pakistan from Russia.
The first consignment has been sent to Pakistan only to estimate whether the oil coming from Russia will be beneficial for Pakistan or not. Russia has given this first consignment to Pakistan at very concessional rates. Lavrov said in a video message, “We are aware of the interest and respect of the Pakistani people for Russia and President Vladimir Putin.” We also appreciate it very much.

But after this he said that Russia was always interested in increasing cooperation with Pakistan. He has not given up on his commitments under any circumstances. According to him, Russia attaches great importance to constructive cooperation with Pakistan in international fora. He further said that Russia is keen to work together on further engagement with Pakistan and its people, strengthening mutually beneficial ties in politics, security, economy, education, cultural and humanitarian fields as well as other areas.
