Luna 25 : Russia has suffered a major setback in Mission Moon. Giving information on Sunday, Russia’s space agency said that its Luna-25 spacecraft has crashed on the moon. ‘Roscosmos’ reported that its unmanned robot lander collided with the moon after going out of control in orbit. Russia sent its lunar mission earlier this month for the first time since the Soviet era of 1976. Before the news of the crash of the vehicle came, Roscosmos informed on Saturday that ‘unusual circumstances’ have arisen and experts are analyzing the problem.
Crashed into the moon after rotating in an uncontrolled orbit
Russia’s space agency Roscosmos said on Sunday that Russia’s Luna-25 spacecraft collided with the moon after rotating in an uncontrolled orbit. Luna-25 was Russia’s first Moon mission in 47 years. It is being told that the efforts made on August 19 and 20 to locate and contact this vehicle have been unsuccessful. “The device entered an unexpected orbit and died as a result of a collision with the lunar surface,” Roskosmos said in a statement.
At 11:10 GMT, an attempt was made to raise the aircraft to the pre-landing orbit.
The agency said an “unusual situation” occurred when mission control attempted to move the aircraft into a pre-landing orbit at 11:10 GMT on Saturday ahead of the planned touchdown for 21 August. Roscosmos said that during the operation, an abnormal condition occurred at the automated station, which did not allow it to perform maneuvers with the specified parameters… Communication with Luna-25 was lost at 11:57 GMT on Saturday. The space agency has said it will launch an investigation into the cause of the accident, without specifying whether technical problems may have occurred.
