Gaza/Ramalla (Best Hindu News): Several Palestinians were injured on Monday during clashes with Israeli troops along Gaza’s border with Israel and the West Bank. Palestinian doctors and eyewitnesses gave this information. At least 12 Palestinians were wounded by Israeli troops during protests along the border between the eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, the health ministry run by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said.
Palestinian witnesses reported that hundreds of Palestinians gathered in the border area waving flags, burning tires, chanting anti-Israel slogans and throwing stones at border troops. He said Israeli soldiers fired dozens of tear gas shells to disperse the protesters and then fired live ammunition at youths who came near the border fence.
The protests were called by several Palestinian groups, including Hamas, to mark the 54th anniversary of the burning of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem and to show solidarity with Palestinians imprisoned in Israeli prisons. At least 50 Palestinians were wounded by Israeli troops during clashes in the village of Beita, southeast of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement. According to official figures, 33 people, mostly Israelis, have been killed in attacks by Palestinians since January, and more than 200 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers and residents.
