Stock Market Closing Bell: There was greenery for investors in the Indian stock market on the second day of the week. After the morning fluctuations, the market gained momentum which continued till the market close.

Sensex rose 0.68 percent or 482.70 points and closed at 71,555.19.

Nifty rose 0.52 percent or 113.15 points and closed at 21,729.20.

The market remained bullish in the banking sector from morning till the end.

What is the condition of Sensex and Nifty?
Shares of Hindalco Industries, Grasim Industries, BPCL, Divis Laboratories and UltraTech Cement were among the top losers on Nifty. While shares of Coal India, UPL, HDFC Life, SBI Life Insurance and ICICI Bank were included in the category of top gainers. Among sectors, except metal (down 1.3 per cent), all other indices ended in the green with banks, healthcare, information technology and power 0.4-1.5 per cent down. BSE Midcap index closed 0.7 percent higher and Smallcap index 0.2 percent higher.

This morning, domestic market indices Sensex and Nifty declined in early trade due to continued volatility amid mixed trends in global markets. The 30-share Sensex of BSE opened with a positive trend and rose 116.42 points to reach 71,188.91 points. However, it soon fell by 129.92 points to 70,942.57 points. Similarly, Nifty initially rose by 14.80 points to reach 21,630.85 points, but soon lost its lead and fell by 63.25 points to 21,552.80 points.
Reliance created history
Reliance Industries has made a new record in India. It has become the first company in the country to cross the market cap of Rs 20 lakh crore. Amid the surge in the Indian stock market, Reliance Industries shares have risen 1.89 percent to reach a 52-week high of Rs 2957.80 at 11.15 am. However, by the time the market closed, the stock was trading at Rs 2,926.20 with a rise of 0.74 percent i.e. Rs 21.50.
