The rulers of Pakistan, trapped in the debt trap for a long history of political instability, are now going to bring new decrees to curb the courts. Pakistan’s Wazir-e-Alam Shahbaz Sharif has said that history will not forgive us if the Parliament does not enact a law to curtail the powers of the Chief Justice.

Shahbaz wants control over judiciary

Addressing a joint session of Pakistan’s parliament, Shehbaz Sharif spoke at length about the dissenting judgment of Supreme Court Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel, which took suo moto cognizance of the Chief Justice to act on any issue. Criticized the unlimited power to take and constitution of benches of choice to hear various cases. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s cabinet has approved a draft law on Tuesday, which seeks to curtail the discretionary powers of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, The Express Tribune newspaper reported.
