After reaching Singapore, Rahima went to her husband’s house and gathered information about the area, as she wanted to get familiar with the area where he lived. The next day, before checking out of the hotel, Rahima filled a flask with hot water. The report said that she told her colleague that she wanted to meet her husband before going home. The DPP said Rahima then returned to Balam Road, wearing a burqa to hide her identity. She reached Rahimi’s block and waited for him to alight on a staircase near his flat. After 10 minutes he saw her leaving the unit.
While Rahimi was putting on his shoes, she ran towards him and threw boiling hot water on him, causing him to moan in pain. Seeing the opportunity, Rahima ran away from the block and later met her colleague. The two women boarded a ferry from the Singapore Cruise Center to Batum. Relatives of the victim informed the police and the police coast guard intercepted the boat when it was in Singapore’s waters.
The victim was taken to the Singapore General Hospital, where he is being treated for second degree burns. No one was ready to fight this case of Rahima. She told the court on Tuesday that she was remorseful, and said she hoped to be with the victim again. The court did not reveal whether their divorce has been finalized or not.
