New Delhi, 19 January (HS). After facing decline for 3 consecutive days, the domestic stock market appeared to be in recovery mode on Friday, the last trading day of the week. Today’s trading started on a strong note. There were constant ups and downs in day trading. Despite this, both the Sensex and Nifty indices continued to remain in the green. After the entire day’s trading, Sensex closed with a gain of 0.70 percent and Nifty with a gain of 0.75 percent.

There was heavy buying in shares of infrastructure, public sector enterprise and metal sectors during the entire day’s trading. Similarly, automobile and energy indices also closed with gains. Apart from this, buying continued in pharmaceutical, realty and IT shares also. Today all the sectoral indices closed in the green. Metal, IT, Capital Goods, Automobile, FMCG, Oil & Gas and Power indices closed with gains ranging from 1 to 2 percent. There was continuous buying in the broader market today, due to which the BSE midcap index closed with a gain of 1.69 percent. Similarly, the Smallcap index ended today’s trading with a gain of 1.06 percent.

Today, due to the rise in the market, the wealth of stock market investors increased by more than Rs 4 lakh crore. The market capitalization of BSE listed companies increased to Rs 373.54 lakh crore (provisional) after today’s trading. Their market capitalization on the last trading day i.e. Thursday was Rs 369.50 lakh crore. In this way, investors earned about Rs 4.04 lakh crore from today’s trading.

Today, there was active trading in 3,912 shares in BSE during the day’s trading. Of these, 2,468 shares closed with gains, while 1,337 shares closed with a decline, while 107 shares closed without any movement. There was active trading in 2,129 shares in NSE today. Of these, 1,464 shares closed in the green after earning profit and 665 shares closed in the red after incurring a loss. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 23 shares closed with gains and 7 shares closed with decline. Out of the stocks included in Nifty, 41 stocks closed in the green mark and 9 stocks closed in the red mark.

BSE Sensex jumped 599.88 points today and opened at 71,786.74 points. There was a continuous tussle between buyers and sellers in the first session of the day. With the support of buying, this index rose by 708.78 points to reach 71,895.64 points. Due to selling pressure, it fell to 71,542.74 points. After the entire day’s trading, the Sensex closed at 71,683.23 points with a gain of 496.37 points.

Like Sensex, NSE’s Nifty started trading today at 21,615.20 points with a gain of 152.95 points. Due to ongoing buying and selling in the market, there were continuous fluctuations in the movement of this index. With the support of buying, this index jumped 208.35 points to reach 21,670.60 points. Similarly, due to selling pressure, it also dived to 21,575 points. After buying and selling throughout the day, Nifty closed at 21,622.40 points with a gain of 160.15 points.

After the entire day’s trading, among the stock market’s leading stocks, ONGC 3.64 percent, Bharti Airtel 3.49 percent, NTPC 3.06 percent, Tech Mahindra 2.56 percent and SBI Life Insurance 2.54 percent joined the list of today’s top 5 gainers. . On the other hand, IndusInd Bank joined the list of today’s top 5 losers with a weakness of 3.21 percent, HDFC Bank 1.04 percent, Kotak Mahindra 0.73 percent, Divi’s Laboratories 0.17 percent and Adani Ports 0.14 percent.
