Stock Market Update: Sensex gains 79 points, Nifty closes down 6 points

In today’s trade, Sensex closed at 65,401.92 points, up 79.27 points, or 0.12 percent, Nifty closed at 19,434.55 points, down 6.25 points, or 0.03 percent.
Amid mixed trends from the global market, on the first trading day of the week i.e. Monday, the domestic stock markets recovered from the initial decline and closed with a slight gain. In today’s trade, Sensex closed at 65,401.92 points, up 79.27 points, or 0.12 percent, Nifty closed at 19,434.55 points, down 6.25 points, or 0.03 percent. In today’s trade, the Bank, Financial and Realty indices closed in the red on the Nifty. However, on Nifty, Auto, FMCG, Metal, IT and Pharma index closed in the green mark.
Top gainers of NIFTY
On NSE Nifty, DIVISLAB shares are up by 1.78 per cent, INFY by 1.54 per cent, LTIM by 1.46 per cent, HINDUNILVR by 1.25 per cent, RELIANCE at 1.02.
There was a break in these stocks on NIFTY
ADANIENT declined 3.64 per cent, JSWSTEEL 2.74 per cent, HINDALCO 2.31 per cent, SBIN 2.29 per cent and ADANIPORTS 2.13 per cent on the NSE Nifty.
Indian rupee gains
The Indian rupee settled marginally at 82.84 per dollar, up marginally by 0.14 paise over its previous close at the interbank foreign exchange market.
