Reliance Industries and its partner BP Plc have resumed auctions for the sale of natural gas from its eastern offshore field KG-D6 block. Both companies have taken this step after the government included new marketing rules to give priority at the level of supply to gas distribution companies supplying CNG and piped cooking gas. According to the tender notice, Reliance and its partner BP Exploration (Alpha) Ltd. (BPEAL) will sell 60 lakh cubic meters per day of gas under the proposed auction scheme on April 3.
NTPC
Public sector NTPC connected the fourth unit of 660 MW capacity of the Barh power station in Patna district to the grid on Sunday morning. This is likely to supply 405 MW additional power to Bihar. Bank of Baroda
Public sector Bank of Baroda (BoB) has increased the interest rate on domestic retail term deposits by 0.25 per cent. Interest rates have been increased on select term deposits. These rates will be applicable for deposits of less than Rs 2 crore. The new rates have come into effect from March 17, 2023. Interest rates have also been increased on Bank of Baroda Tax Saving Term Deposit and Baroda Advantage Fixed Deposit. The interest rate on deposits for a period of three years to five years will now be 6.5 per cent. In the case of Indian senior citizens, it is 7.15 per cent.

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB), which selects heads of public sector banks and financial institutions, is likely to select the new chairman of insurance company LIC this month. Sources said that the chairman will be selected from among the four managing directors of the company. If all the members of the committee are present then the bureau can conduct the interview for this post by the end of next week.
