The Reserve Bank of India said that Paytm Payment Services can continue with the online payment aggregation business while it awaits approval from the Government of India for the previous investment by One 97 Communications in Paytm Payment Services as per the FDI guidelines. RBI has provided 15 days time to Paytm Payment Services to apply to act as an online payment aggregator after getting government approval.
Reliance Capital
Debt-ridden Reliance Capital’s plan to hold a second round of lenders’ auction has hit a rough patch as bidders are reluctant to participate in the fresh auction. Sources said that on March 20, the Supreme Court had allowed the appeal of Torrent Investments, which was the highest bidder in the first round of auction, challenging the lenders’ decision to hold another round of auction. However, the court refused to ban the fresh auction. The court has scheduled the matter for next hearing in August.
