LIC

The profit of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) increased manifold to Rs 9544 crore in the June quarter. The public sector insurance company had earned a profit of Rs 683 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. LIC’s total income increased to Rs 1,88,749 crore in the June quarter from Rs 1,68,881 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year. However, the first year premium declined to Rs 6,811 crore in the June quarter from Rs 7,429 crore in the June 2022 quarter, the company said.

SAIL

Public sector Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) reported a 74 per cent decline in profit at Rs 212.48 crore in the April-June quarter of the current financial year. The company said that its profit has declined due to increase in expenses. Its profit was Rs 804.50 crore in the same quarter a year ago. SAIL said its total income rose to Rs 24,822.83 crore in the June quarter as against Rs 24,199.51 crore in the same quarter last year.

Air India

The airline’s new brand identity and aircraft livery were unveiled as part of plans to turn around Air India after it came under the ownership of the Tata group. Air India said that the new look of the aircraft has been designed in the gold window frame of the Indian window already used by Air India. It has been described as a symbol of ‘window of possibilities’.

Torrent Power Limited (TPL) profit rose 6 percent to Rs 532.28 crore in the June quarter. The company told the stock market that its profit was Rs 502.01 crore in the same period a year ago. The company’s total income rose to Rs 7,413.32 crore in the quarter under review, as against Rs 6,618.62 crore in the year-ago period.

Hero MotoCorp

Two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp’s profit in the first quarter of the current financial year increased by 19.63 per cent year-on-year to Rs 700.54 crore. The company had earned a profit of Rs 585.58 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. Hero MotoCorp’s integrated revenue from operations rose to Rs 8,851.01 crore in the June quarter from Rs 8,447.54 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
