Mumbai The strike by the pilots of Alliance Air has ended and they have returned to work. A senior official of Alliance Air gave this information on Wednesday. A section of the airline’s pilots were on strike for two days. Around 70-80 pilots of Alliance Air went on strike on Monday and Tuesday. These pilots went on strike to protest non-restorement of pre-Covid pay and non-payment of allowances. Alliance Air Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vineet Sood told PTI that the pilots have returned to work. He said talks are on with the pilots on the issues raised by them.
Sources had said on Tuesday that the airline has issued show cause notices to these pilots. Alliance Air said in a statement that flights were disrupted for the last two days due to reports of illness of a section of pilots. “We are happy to inform that operations have normalized and flights are running as per schedule,” the statement said. The state-run Alliance Air was earlier part of Air India, which has now been privatised. . Alliance Air has around 200 pilots and operates around 130 flights daily. One of the sources said that at least 70 flights were affected due to the strike by the pilots on Tuesday.
