Suicide attack on police station in Pakistan, 4 killed, 28 injured

Pakistan-based terrorist organisation, Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP) claimed responsibility for the attack which took place near tribal areas bordering Afghanistan. Security forces also killed three terrorists during the exchange of fire.
At least four security forces personnel were killed and 28 others injured in a suicide attack after a group of terrorists attacked a local police station in Dera Ismail Khan in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Several suicide bombers stormed the security compound and detonated explosives inside the compound. The terrorists also opened fire on the security personnel and the firing is still going on.

Security forces also killed three terrorists during the exchange of fire. Police officer Kamal Khan revealed that after the blast, some terrorists started firing on the security forces. The area where the attack took place is a city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province reported a deadly attack in January 2023 when a suicide bomber targeted a mosque in Peshawar, killing about 101 people.
