Washington. Super 30 founder and mathematician Anand Kumar has said that he will soon launch a new online educational platform to take education to the doorstep of poor and underprivileged students in India. In his address at the 2024 Kellogg India Business Conference on Reimagining India: Shaping the Global Economic Landscape, organized by Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Kumar said there is a need to adopt available technology to reach out to more students. The time has come.
“The time has come to embrace the technology available to reach more students,” Kumar said. Super 30 helped me raise the aspirations of the poor to change their lives and many of the students who passed out demonstrated a generational change through the power of education. A new online educational platform will soon be launched to take education to the doorstep of the poor, which will be an expanded version of their pioneering Super 30 initiative. He said that the disruption caused by the Covid pandemic taught him a lot, such as connecting with students stuck at home through social media. Kumar said that one can learn a lot from adverse situations.
He said, the world is full of talented people. Even in the present scenario, many children remain away from the sight of the world due to poverty. They have the potential to become Newton and Ramanujan, but perhaps their talent is lost due to lack of opportunity. My online initiative aims to give them a platform to achieve excellence. Kumar said that this will fulfill his dream of seeing every underprivileged student educated. “Even the poorest deserve quality education,” he said. The best use of technology would be to ensure that opportunities reach the underprivileged.
