Surat, Hazira based Adani Foundation is carrying out various activities in Umarpada taluk with the aim of providing livelihood to tribal women. In this sequence, BIF Institute for Sustainable Livelihood invited a total of 155 sisters of 21 Sakhi Mandals of Ghanavad, Chokhwada, Panch Amba, Umargot, Kevadi and Sadrapani villages of Umarpada taluk to see, understand and take inspiration from the successful activities of other areas. .

A total of three motivational tours were organized to get information about the ongoing activities in Dang district. The Kotwalia of Umarpada area also participated in the tour, whose livelihood is by making and selling various items from bamboo. These weaving expert sisters of the Kotwalia family interacted with the sisters of Dang and gained information about their art and business.

In this visit organized by Adani Foundation, the sisters of Sakhi Mandal of Umarpada Mission Mangalam got information about women empowerment activities conducted by BAIF organization. Various bamboo handicrafts, AGC Bamboo Handicrafts in Waghai, Dangs, which is a group of 15 sisters and brothers, make various innovative designs from bamboo, organic turmeric made by the sisters of Ambika Sakhi Mandal, various spices used in cooking , soaps, various pickles, Nagli Papad manufacturing factory and sales unit, Nahari Hotel run by the sisters and visiting the cashew factory, the entire project was understood.

During the visit to Dang district, the sisters of Umarpada got a lot of information like how all the activities can be done in their area, how much income is generated, the method of management etc. Eager to increase their income, these tribal sisters are engaged in various activities at home also.

The sisters of Ghanavad village of Upparada taluka got training by joining Adani Foundation and have now started earning income by making pickle papad and garam masala. These rural sisters were excited by the visit to Dang district. Some sisters had gone from one area to another for the first time in their lives.
