A seminar on ‘Entrepreneurship Development for Women in Exports’ was organized by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In which Manisha Thackeray, Vice President, Trilines Global Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., EXIM Faculty and Corporate Trainer of Export-Import and Logistics Supply Chain Management, guided the women entrepreneurs on what to keep in mind in the export sector and how to grow their products.

Meanwhile, under the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84, an MoU was signed between South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Exim Club (Vadodara) for “Skill Transformation”. It was signed by Chamber of Commerce President Ramesh Vaghasia and Ekism Club President Gurucharan Brahmbhatt. According to this MoU, experts from Eczema Club will come to Surat and provide guidance to the entrepreneurs of Surat regarding exports. Similarly, a delegation of businessmen from Surat will be able to go to Vadodara and get necessary information regarding maximum exports.

Chamber of Commerce President Ramesh Vaghasia, while giving the welcome address, said, ’48 percent of the total population of India is women. According to the Periodic Labor Force Survey for the year 2021-22, the main working age group of women is 32.8 percent. The global average female workforce share is 47 percent. There is continuous improvement in providing meaningful employment to women in India. Due to this, the proportion of women in the workforce was only 23.3 percent in the year 2017-18, which has now increased to 32.8 percent.

He further said, ‘About 18 percent of the total start-ups established in India are founded by women. It is also interesting to know that India has the third largest population of unicorns and about 17 percent of them are founded by women. It is estimated that Indian women contribute about 22 per cent to the GDP, while the global average is 45 per cent.

Corporate trainer Manisha Thakkar said, ‘If Namaskar and Indian tradition can spread in the world, then the products of Indian women can also be sold in the world. Women can be empowered through exports. Entrepreneurship always requires new learning. Exports are not a short-term plan, it requires hard work with proper planning.

Describing the difficult period of Corona as a fortunate time for India, he said, ‘In that time, many women have worked to handle the family and business, the economic axis of the house. The volume of exports from India has increased after Covid. Spices, Indian food is appreciated all over the world today. There is no geographical area like India for exports anywhere in the world, India can increase its GDP by increasing its exports.

She explained five important points of export-import for women and five mantras of successful business and said that it is important for women entrepreneurs to learn to accept different cultures, save business in foreign currency, manage operational workload, manage their Take care of financial situation.
