The Municipal Corporation is planning to replace diesel buses with e-buses on all the roads of the city by the end of 2025. More than 2.5 lakh passengers are traveling in the public transport service of the Municipal Corporation every day. Some time ago, in the general meeting of the municipality, a demand was made to start only women bus service.
This demand is being fulfilled today. Surat Municipal Corporation has started bus service only for women. This bus service has started on the ONGC route from Sarthana Nature Park in Surat city. Surat Municipality officials started the bus service by flagging off the pink women’s bus. The first route of BRTS bus service has been launched. In the pilot project, buses will run on ONGC route from Sarthana Nature Park, in the coming days, plans will be made for other routes also after demand.
