No one shared this picture and if she had died, everyone would have been sharing it. Safa wrote in the end, ‘Share the positivity.’ There has been a lot of destruction in both Turkey and Syria. Many children have lost their lives in this devastation while some have come out alive. The freezing temperature is hampering the relief work here. Relief and rescue workers are working non-stop and tirelessly to get children out of the rubble.
The death toll may increase
Hundreds of rescue workers are pulling out survivors from the debris spread far and wide. Authorities fear that the death toll from Monday’s earthquake could rise. The continuous aftershocks after the earthquake have made the situation critical. There is a snow storm in both Turkey and Syria. Because of this the temperature has gone below zero. The area where the earthquake occurred in Syria is divided between the government and the rebels.
1700 buildings destroyed
According to reports, hundreds of families are buried under the rubble on the land currently held by the rebels. Thousands of buildings have collapsed due to the earthquake in Turkey. It is being told that about 1700 buildings have collapsed in the earthquake. Apart from Turkey’s Diyarbakir, Syria’s Aleppo and Hama have debris of buildings everywhere. This debris is spread up to 330 kilometers in the north-east direction.
