Putting an end to speculations about a possible takeover, TCPL told the stock market that it has not entered into any agreement to acquire Bisleri.

Tata Group’s FMCG major Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL) has ‘closed’ talks to acquire bottled water company Bisleri International. The company gave this information on Friday. Putting an end to speculations about a possible takeover, TCPL told the stock market that it has not entered into any agreement to acquire Bisleri.

TCPL said, “In this regard, the company wishes to inform that it has stopped the talks with Bisleri and the company has not entered into any agreement in this regard.” The Tata group company, however, said it will continue to evaluate various strategic opportunities for growth and expansion of its business. The management of the company will continue to hold discussions with various stakeholders including Bisleri International. Industrialist Ramesh Chauhan, owner of Bisleri, had said last year that he was looking for a buyer for Bisleri and was in touch with several buyers, including TCPL.
