The company is facing financial problems these days in the UK. This will now affect 3000 employees. According to the report, Tata Steel will now close two furnaces of its Port Talbot Steel Works unit. Due to the closure of these furnaces, a total of three thousand employees at both the places will be unemployed. However, till now the company has not officially clarified any information in this regard. It is being claimed that the company may soon announce the removal of employees. The company can also announce the closure of the furnace within a day or two.
Know why the company is closing the furnace
Tata Group is closing both these blast furnaces for a special reason. In fact, the company had earlier held a meeting with the workers union, in which the issue of not closing the furnace was discussed. However, even after this no solution was found, due to which it has now been decided to close the furnace. The company is facing problems financing the greener metal production operation. For this reason, employees are being laid off.
However, the company has also been receiving government support for a long time. The British government had also provided government assistance to save the employees from the sword of retrenchment. The British government had given assistance of Rs 5300 crore to the company last year. According to the information, Tata Steel’s British business has declined in the last few months, due to which it has incurred losses.
